The Intention Behind High Summer: Fabric, Function, and Feel

High Summer. Airy Linen.

This High Summer collection is made for those long, sun-drenched days when the heat settles deep into the air and time seems to slow.

It's for the hours when the sun stands highest in the sky, casting sharp shadows and making it almost impossible to keep your eyes fully open. The streets shimmer under the heat, almost as if they're quietly steaming. It's the kind of weather that calls for stillness - open windows, shaded terraces, and the gentle rhythm of warm air passing through linen.

That is said, our Lightweight Linen collection is all about escaping the heat without leaving it. It explores how patterns, texture, and cut serve the function while creating garments that help to escape the heat without leaving it.

The lightweight linen fabric (±160 g/m² | ±4.1 oz/yd²) was specially chosen for its ability to keep you cool and comfortable when temperatures rise. The fine, airy weave allows even more superior airflow by helping to release heat, prevent sweat build-up, and reduce that sticky feeling even in the most humid conditions. The lightweight construction also gives garments a relaxed, flowing drape that doesn't cling to the body - making it feel almost weightless in the heat.

Nevertheless, to wear linen this light is to almost forget you're wearing anything at all. It rests gently on the skin - barely there, yet present in the most comforting way. The fabric moves with the air, not against it, catching the slightest breeze and letting it pass through.

The gingham pattern was also chosen not just for its charm and butter softness, but how it naturally adds visual depth and coverage, and reduces 'flat transparency' you usually get with plain light weight linen. Gingham is made of crossing lighter and darker linen threads – in plain linen light passes directly and evenly, with gingham, the darker threads interrupt that light. This is the same reason why patterns like this hide wrinkles better.

We are especially proud of this gingham fabric - its buttery softness is truly unmatched. From the very first touch, it feels exceptionally smooth, gentle, and comforting against the skin, with a softness that sets it apart. This quality comes from a careful balance of weave, weight, and finishing. The fabric has been refined to maintain linen's natural breathability while achieving a softness that feels almost fluid.

As part of this collection, you will find the designs we consider most suited to lightweight linen - easy, relaxed tops, flowing dresses with generous volume, and longer silhouettes that offer natural sun coverage.

Notably, the colors of our lightweight gingham - chocolate, Moroccan, olive, and cobalt - are thoughtfully matched to the same shades in our medium-weight linen.
