As designers, we don’t always have the chance to create in our own style, rooted in everything we find beautiful and meaningful. And it’s even rarer to collaborate with a company that shares the same ethical values we stand for. It’s no surprise that joy and excitement have defined my mood toward this collaboration since day one.
Even though nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration, and I’ve been drawing floral patterns for a long time, this collaboration invited me to see them in a new light. From the start, I knew these prints had to feel effortlessly connected to linen—natural, timeless, and full of quiet character. Linen has a presence of its own; it breathes, softens, and evolves over time. My task wasn’t just about aesthetics but about creating patterns that felt as if they had always belonged on this fabric. It was an enriching process, one that deepened my appreciation for both the material and the patterns themselves.
Florals have remained a textile staple for centuries, carrying a sense of familiarity and ease. I wanted to embrace this synergy between material and motif—patterns that feel fluid and organic, shaped by nature’s rhythm. At the same time, my goal was never to simply replicate nature but to distill its essence into forms that complement the fabric’s raw beauty.
The color selection process was just as intentional and inspiring—especially for the summer collection, where we wanted prints that wouldn’t just match NPL’s solid linens but invite creative mixing and layering. I spent hours playing with fabric samples, exploring combinations that felt both harmonious and dynamic. Playful moments like these are my favorite part of the creative process, and I like to think a part of that joy lives on in the final pieces.
Collaborating with a brand that values craftsmanship and slow design meant trusting that every step—from concept to finished garment—would be approached with care. It’s deeply fulfilling to know that the creativity I bring to the world finds a home in such inspiring products, becoming part of someone’s everyday life, shaping memories as they soften and evolve over time.
