Why Linen?

Unique Properties & Health Benefits

Linen is long lasting natural fiber derived from flax plants. It is breathable, highly moisture absorbent, and has unique temperature-regulating properties. It is also antibacterial and resistant to allergens making it the top choice for sensitive people.

Free Of Harmful Substances

Linen, unlikely other fabrics, which are produced under intense chemical treatment, is a plant which grows without the need for many fertilizers or pesticides. This means that not only the fabric we put on our skin is free from extreme harmful substances, but also it does not damage our soil.

Less Thirsty Than Cotton

Unlike cotton which requires huge amount of water to be produced, linen requires least water to be grown. Natural rainfalls are usually enough to irrigate flax plantations and thus growing linen doesn’t contribute to withdrawal of ground or surface water resources.

Biodegradable & Recyclable

Linen is a recyclable and biodegradable fabric being completely decomposed by biological process within first two weeks when properly buried in the soil, while degradation of polyester fabric takes near 200 years.

Why Made-To-Order?

Avoiding Overproduction

Clothes are a necessary part ofour life, but our ever-expanding wardrobes are damaging the Planet. Global fashion industry waste is huge. Up to 100 billion new garments are made each year, leaving our Planet with 92 million tons of textile waste every single year.

Reducing Landfill Waste

Our brand chooses to work on Made-To-Order model as it is a huge manufacturing tool to reduce textile waste and avoid overproduction. We allow our customer to lead manufacturing process by showing a demand and produce only what is needed.

Really great quality dress, with a few caveats

"This dress is really well made; the customization options are impressive and the linen is thick and has surprisingly few wrinkles. The only issue is that I wanted this dress specifically for maternity and postpartum, but couldn’t get great sizing guidance as to whether it needed any specific alterations for that purpose. The answer to that question is yes—the skirt area has lots of extra material for a growing belly, but the chest area is quite small and definitely won’t accommodate the growing chest size that most pregnant and nursing women are going to have. I went up a size from my pre-pregnancy size and added an extra inch in the bust as one of my custom alterations and the chest still barely fits now in mid-pregnancy, plus the arms are snug. No way is it going to fit in late pregnancy or in the first months postpartum. If I could do it over, I would add 2-3 inches in the bust for this to last an entire pregnancy and into early postpartum. I would say the bright side is that I’ll get more use out of it later since it won’t be too large in the top, however, since the skirt is pretty huge I don’t expect it to be flattering by that point. All in all a great quality dress, but possibly not a great maternity option for most. I’d definitely order from NPL again, just not while my sizing is in flux."

Just perfect

"Fits beautifully, love the neckline and wide gathered dress. When there is a breeze, it feels lovely and blows in the wind. Color is better than you can imagine. I got a L, 5'4" 155 pounds for reference. Ordering more in other colors! Weight of the linen is just right. Please thank your team!"

I'm going to live in this dress!

"This dress is so comfortable and flowy, I ordered a size L per the recommendations since I didn't want to wear it as a maternity dress. I'm 5'3" and about 175 lbs for reference. I asked for custom sized arm holes since I hate tight sleeves and it came out perfectly! Absolutely love this dress"I think I will live in it all summer! Thank you :)"

Lovely dress to wear forever

"I just received the mama dress with customizations for my birthday and really like it. The Cinnamon Rose is a beautiful color, the linen feels good and will last forever, and I am happy to support a small business who makes excellent clothing. Thanks NPL!"

Worth the wait

"This was my first purchase from NPL. I made a couple customizations to the sleeves and neckline. It turned out beautifully. I am a size 10/12 and ordered the large. I could’ve done the m/l I think in this style. . but, the side ties help pull it in a bit. Overall love the dress. . and LOVE the grape wine color! Top quality linen as well."

Beautiful dress

"I ordered this in admiral blue with waist ties and a belt. I was unsure about sizing so provided my measurements and what ptp sizes usually work for me. After verifying with me, they picked a medium with a small waist and hips. It turned out perfectly. I'm very impressed and pleased with their customer service and ability to modify garments according to individual need. I will be ordering again. Thank you."

Heather R. (5/5)

LOVE!!!

"I love this mama dress so much! I had one in a different color that was a little too roomy so I sold it and sized down to a M. It fits me perfectly at 37 weeks pregnant (my heaviest) so it will be even more comfy as I lose some weight postpartum. I did customize it with back ties, snaps instead of buttons, and a rounded collar. I had no issues with my mods, put them in the comment when I ordered and everything came just as I wanted. I'm so happy with my dress, it will be perfect for spring/summer!"

Jamie G. (5/5)

Cute and comfortable!

"I love this dress. It looks great, is nice and loose through the waist and skirt. Two things to note: the shoulders and chest I found closer to an extra small - it fit, but a bit more restrictive. Secondly, the buttons may soften up, but are generally stiff - so wouldn't be super fast to open and close the top."

Actually Perfect

"I am postpartum, currently 170lbs and 5ft 5in. I got a M Juniper Green dress with 3 customizations. Brass buttons all the way down, a removable tie back and a Porto neckline. It's gorgeous. The video does not do it justice, I feel so beautiful and feminine in this dress. Make sure you follow the size guide! I did choose to size down after reading some reviews but I think I should have stuck to getting a M/L or even a L. My bust is popping the top snaps a bit regardless of whether or not I use the removable back tie. I know this is due to my error in measuring myself properly so no fault to the company at all! I will be ordering more pieces from Not Perfect Linen very soon. I can't wait to add more beautiful items to my collection. Love this company!"

Brianna (5/5)

Should have sized down

"Love everything about this and the fact that I could add a couple inches to the length. My only issue is that I got a M and it's too much fabric in the skirt, but I'm worried that if I had gone down a size, the bust/shoulder area would have been too small/less roomy like I like it"
