Why Linen?

Unique Properties & Health Benefits

Linen is long lasting natural fiber derived from flax plants. It is breathable, highly moisture absorbent, and has unique temperature-regulating properties. It is also antibacterial and resistant to allergens making it the top choice for sensitive people.

Free Of Harmful Substances

Linen, unlikely other fabrics, which are produced under intense chemical treatment, is a plant which grows without the need for many fertilizers or pesticides. This means that not only the fabric we put on our skin is free from extreme harmful substances, but also it does not damage our soil.

Less Thirsty Than Cotton

Unlike cotton which requires huge amount of water to be produced, linen requires least water to be grown. Natural rainfalls are usually enough to irrigate flax plantations and thus growing linen doesn’t contribute to withdrawal of ground or surface water resources.

Biodegradable & Recyclable

Linen is a recyclable and biodegradable fabric being completely decomposed by biological process within first two weeks when properly buried in the soil, while degradation of polyester fabric takes near 200 years.

Why Made-To-Order?

Avoiding Overproduction

Clothes are a necessary part ofour life, but our ever-expanding wardrobes are damaging the Planet. Global fashion industry waste is huge. Up to 100 billion new garments are made each year, leaving our Planet with 92 million tons of textile waste every single year.

Reducing Landfill Waste

Our brand chooses to work on Made-To-Order model as it is a huge manufacturing tool to reduce textile waste and avoid overproduction. We allow our customer to lead manufacturing process by showing a demand and produce only what is needed.

Sustainability & Ethics

Biodegradable Materials & Renewable Resources

We source the best European linen available. The material we use is OEKO–TEX® Standard 100 certified, and it is produced entirely in Europe from the fields to the fabric. It also means that linen fabric has been tested for harmful substances and was grown using fewer resources and energy. Our linen fabric manufacturer uses only green energy, that means all the power provided to the weaving, softening, dyeing process is only from renewable resources.

Good Practices

We use as much recyclable package as the transition let us do, and we leave no fabric waste by incorporating small remnants in upcoming designs or donating fabric swatches to the crafters. We are proud @nplcares owners where we give possibility for less privileged people to engage with sustainable fashion.

Minimizing Enviromental Footprint

We keep our supply chain local to minimize our environmental footprint. Our linen fabric manufacturer is based within 80 km from our studio, as long as the entire operation of designing, cutting, sewing, labelling, packing and shipping is done in exclusively in our studio. It cuts out middlemen, significantly reduces transportation air miles and help us to monitor the entirely process closely.

Ethics

We are aware of the environmental, social, cruelty to animal's issues worldwide, and we assure that we manufacture with a conscience. We are focused on ensuring quality, promoting transparency, using sustainable practices and doing all this as ethically as possible. We act with fairness and integrity while observing high standards of personal and business ethics, and we expect all our suppliers to conduct their business in the same manner. To consider this, we select only such sourcing suppliers who meet our social and environmental criteria or have adopted sustainable practices.

Over 200 000 conscious customers voiced their sustainable decision and trusted us on their journey while reducing their wardrobe footprint. Over 45 000 five-star reviews via all market platforms confirmed that we deliver what we promise.
